Through a series of modules, you will learn the fundamentals of UX design and production workflows by using practical methodologies and the latest prototyping tool Figma. You will solve business and product design challenges while applying the latest user centered design principles. These include practical UX techniques such as user research, journey mapping, competitive analysis, design thinking, wireframing, prototyping, matrices, personas, and validation testing. You will also begin developing your professional persona by translating projects into case studies to showcase in your portfolio.

You will learn to:

  • Apply a user-centered approach to designing digital products using the latest methodologies and tools;
  • Develop creative solutions using the UX design process;

  • Create a portfolio that showcases projects and illustrates UX best practices;
  • Use the latest industry tools to generate wireframes, prototypes and other user-centered UX techniques;
  • Design solutions that meet the technical requirements of the production team;
  • Apply professional self-reflection, collaboration, storytelling, problem solving and active listening techniques throughout the UX design process.

This program employs a project-based approach that focuses on the acquisition and practice of real-world skills required for a professional UX designer.

Scheduling

A typical week in the 12-week accelerated format:

  • 7 hours of synchronous learning
  • 1.75 hours of asynchronous learning (At your convenience during a given week
  • Project-based work and assignments require 11+ hours outside class time
  • Those with little or no prior knowledge will require more time

A typical week in the 20-week format:

  • 4 hours of synchronous learning
  • 1 hour of asynchronous learning (At your convenience during a given week)
  • Project-based work and assignments require 5-8 hours outside class time
  • Those with little or no prior knowledge will require more time
